LaLuna Wedding at High Falls with Jeri and Aaron

Friday’s urban downtown wedding at High Falls’ La Luna Restaurant was one for the history books!

Aaron and Jeri threw an emotional ceremony overlooking Rochester’s High Falls gorge with a coffee themed wedding reception featuring Joe Bean Coffee Roasters.

My fave part of the night was seeing my good friends from Joe Bean Coffee Roasters dominate the reception with their portable expresso cart.

FUN FACT: Joe Bean is how Jeri and Aaron found me! I was on vacation in beautiful Costa Rica this past February when Kathy recommended me to Jeri and Aaron. Jeri has known Kathy since childhood and Dena is a Bridesmaid here. So, naturally I harassed Katie and got in her way all night trying to capture photos of her slinging drinks all night long.

And I tell ya… there was a line for her coffee cart ALL night long.

FUN FACT 2: the wedding favors are dual purpose! If you flip them upside down, they fit an expresso shot in the base perfectly. SO cool!

Check out this sneak peek of their finished wedding album :

The ladies got ready in a bathroom on the second floor, while the guys took the gorgeous bar on the first floor. I kept trying to flip them, but to no avail. It all worked out great and no one cared except for me.

This building is ginormous and has so many different spaces available so there was plenty of room to move around.

I loved these fun floral robes that Jeri gave all of her Bridesmaids.

Jeri looked STUNNING in her gown and sort of reminded me of Marilyn Monroe with her dress. Loved everything about this wedding.

When the time was right, Jeri’s father presented Aaron with a Tallit prayer shawl for the ceremony and read the inscription to him right before he saw his almost Bride for the first time.

My favorite reason to do the “First Look” is so we can clearly see the Groom’s expression when he sees his stunning Bride for the first time.

If we wait until they walk down the aisle, we rarely get the same energy and emotion. That’s mostly due to everyone standing up and blocking the Groom’s view! The irony!

Aaron did not disappoint here and they both took a few minutes to enjoy each other before their wedding ceremony.

We also knocked out all of the family formal portraits too! WIN!

As you can clearly see, we had amazing weather and an even more amazing Bridal Party! Seriously, even the kiddos were great!

ALL of my tricks worked on them and they let me trick them into enjoying the photos more than once. I felt like such a success. Haha.

LaLuna at High Falls Wedding Reception

Oh don’t worry, the rest of the party was off the hook too. Jeri’s father gave the most beautiful toast & blessing and the band kept the dance floor hopping all night long.

Everyone had a great time at the reception and took little breaks to cool off on the balcony.

Also of note was the sheer amount of photographers at the wedding. Many left their cameras at home, thankfully, however tons of people talked to me about photography all night. Even Aaron’s Mom had a great camera with her.

Aaron and Jeri, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your lives and hearts! It has been such a great year of getting to know you both and turning you on to ‘travel hacking’ ;-).  Enjoy!
