This wedding season, I’ve really lucked out with my wedding days! Both with the amazingly cooler-than-normal weather and with my really wonderful and silly couples. Ian and Ashley had a gorgeous rustic Finger Lakes wedding at the epic Bristol Harbour Resort on Saturday. The changing cloud formations kept everyone outside looking at the stunning view of Canandaigua Lake.
Both the guys and the girls got ready at the hotel on site and we were able to sneak in a ‘first look’ for the bride and groom before the ceremony. Ashley’s veil was long and really flowed in the wind, which made for some funny pictures, especially since Ian laughed constantly. He has a joy for life and a calmness about him that will make for a great husband over the years!
It was hard to get a serious picture with him or any of the groomsmen, and by the end of the night, I stopped trying. Their personalities really made for way better images anyway.
The ceremony was lovely and touching, with Grandmas crying, and both had epic novels for vows. Which, really, is a good omen for their marriage! The list literally went on and on with how much they loved each other.
Ashley looked gorgeous and stunning, even when she was rocking her Mom’s wedding hat! We snuck away for a few minutes to re-create her Mom’s wedding portrait…Ah, the ’80’s! I kinda want these grand hats to make a comeback.
Special thanks to Sue Zeccola for recommending my work to this couple (and who took their engagement images)! I loved loved loved working with Ian & Ashley and capturing their fun loving nature on this gorgeous day! Between parents photo-bombing the formal portraits to Ian photo-bombing my cake cutting test shots… there were a lot of laughs coming from me. Except when trying to round up the bridal party/family for portraits…. jeez…Worst behaved bridal party ever. It was like trying to herd cats.
Congratulations to Ian and Ashley! Enjoy your honeymoon and these teaser images. The rest will be available in 6-8 weeks.
