These two just cracked me up. All day long. It was hard to get a straight face out of any of them! Therefore, it was perfect. Emily and Tony have been making me laugh all year. I love their zest for life and down to earth attitudes.
My day began with Tony and his brother getting straight razor shaves at The Men’s Room. The boys got their beards trimmed and beautiful, then I headed over to Gallery Salon to catch the ladies finishing up.
Ironically, Emily told me I looked beautiful that day. That is just how sweet she is.
We all headed over to the church to finish getting everyone ready and to set up for the ceremony. Two more quotes sum up my day…
One, when I asked what the photography restrictions were the wedding officiant, Tina, laughed and said “This is a Unitarian Church, you can do what you want!”
That is SO refreshing! A few minutes later, Tony introduced me to his Dad and said: “This is Heather… she could work at a garbage dump and make it look cool!” Well, that’s one heck of a testimonial!
The ceremony was perfect and touching and sweet and just at the moment that Emily stood before him, Tony sobbed tears of joy.
After all of these years of being in business, it always touches my heart and awakens my soul when I see such pure emotion at a wedding, especially from the Groom.
The rest of the day was really wonderful as well. All of the family was well behaved and paying attention during the family formals. The Bridal Party had fun wandering around downtown Rochester for their portraits near sunset. I loved the bridesmaid dresses… perfect for a summer wedding.
I haven’t worked at the Hyatt in years and years, so I wasn’t expecting much, however they did an amazing job and the food was very very good.
Emily and Tony picked the Main Street Ballroom and that is a really cool room! So much different than the standard hotel ballroom. I loved it.
The toasts were also really touching and again there was a lot of emotion… this time from Tony’s brother, Joe. What sweet and authentic men in this family. They are obviously very close and want what is best for each other. It is always so wonderful to see first hand the impact that a wedding has on the family and to see without a doubt that everyone is so thrilled that the Bride and Groom have found each other.
Emily’s family was the same. Recently in conversation I was saying how only once in all these years did I see parents snuggling together during the wedding… hugging with joy at their daughter’s wedding. Well, it happened again! Emily’s parents were holding each other, feeling proud, all day.
These are the types of images and moments that keep me working in this business.
Well, without yammering on any longer about how great these families are… here are some highlights from the wedding day:
