Small Highland Conservatory Wedding: Drew and Savannah
My favorite bartender got married!!
These two are two of the South Wedge neighborhood‘s favorite locals, so it was fitting that they stayed close to home for their offbeat wedding at the Highland Park Conservatory. On Friday afternoon, we met and the couple had their ‘first look’ inside their favorite part of the greenhouse… the cactus room. A warm, yet beautiful location. These two were all smiles, and adorably, Savannah said she felt more calm now that she saw Drew. Awe!
We photographed all of the ‘must-have’ family photos while we waited for the remaining guests to arrive for the ceremony. The sun was filtering through the greenhouse roof and offered a nice October light.
Savannah’s sister, Emily, sang and played the ukulele as a serenade down the aisle and then a little duck blocked the path when Savannah and her father were en route!
The ceremony itself was short, yet very touching and their friend Anthony officiated.
After a bit of milling around, getting congratulations, hugs and whiskey from their closest friends and family, I took the newly weds and the Maid of Honor over to Mt. Hope Cemetery for more formal portraits. Drew had a penchant for creeping up on Savannah from behind the headstones. Hilarious!
When these two aren’t laughing and goofing off, they are just gazing at each other. I love the way Savannah looks at Drew. Such a peace falls over her face. So sweet to witness.
A BIG shout out to Jessica, the MOH, for agreeing to help out with lighting during the portraits. You totally rocked it, girl! I love love love love these of Savannah (and Drew ain’t so bad neither)…
When the sun was beginning to set and the large Harvest Moon was grabbing our attention, we scooted right on over to the Revelry to meet up with every else for a sit down dinner in the private dining room. The food and drinks were out of this world amazing and Savannah did a beautiful job decorating the space.
Once the cake was cut, we all headed downstairs for the after party, with even more close friends. I stayed out too late, however it was tons of fun and totally worth it.
All in all, it was a perfect little intimate Rochester wedding and I am so honored and proud to be the documentarian for Drew and Savannah’s wedding. Thank you so much for having me and a big CHEERS to you both on a long and happy life together. Love you guys!
