Small Fall Wedding Photos at the Rowland House: Geena and Dave

Dave and Geena hosted a very small and intimate Fall wedding at the Inns of Aurora‘s gorgeous Rowland House with just their immediate family plus two sets of friends, one of which was the officiant!

This Finger Lakes wedding was catching Fall just at it’s beginning and lent itself for a beautiful day with just a hint of changing of the seasons.

Small Wedding Venue: The Rowland House

Dave and Geena both got ready at the Rowland House, as they had rented the entire house out for their friends and family.

If you haven’t been to the Inns of Aurora, do yourself a favor and take someone special there soon.

Everything from the views, the grounds and the service are top notch and this is easily my favorite location to photograph a wedding.

As you can see, we had a beautiful and sunny day for this Tuesday afternoon wedding and the leaves were just starting to turn on the trees.

With a view of Cayuga Lake, the wedding ceremony was relaxed, intimate and touching as the Bride and Groom said “I do”.

While a string quartet gave ambiance to the Rowland House, we captured all of the official family portraits and then I snuck the newly weds away for a walk along the shore for their photos.

Planning a Small Wedding in the Finger Lakes

Dave and Geena both have a natural grace and calm about them and it was very easy to direct, pose and inspire them, especially with the gorgeous Rowland and EB Morgan Houses as our playground!

I loved Geena’s crystal broach bouquet and oddly, the first time I had seen one was my last wedding, on the Saturday before.

As a certified eco-friendly photographer, I love love love love the idea of using broaches for a bouquet. Not only could you rent your bouquet, but you also could keep it forever or repurpose the broaches. Love this so much.

As you can see, Geena worked her butt off to be wedding ready and it shows! Girl, you looked stunning in that dress! Flawless!

After poaching a few portraits on the porch of the fabulous E.B. Morgan House, we walked around to find the single red tree in full Fall glory. It was the perfect end to a perfect afternoon with these two lovebirds and their Fall wedding at the Rowland House.

And with that, I said farewell and congratulations as they rejoined their guests for their wedding reception in the dining room to celebrate and toast the very happy couple.

Geena and Dave, congratulations on your new marriage. It is so clear how much you two love each other and why you have committed your lives to each other. You are an inspiration and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
