Oh, man. Where to begin?? I guess if you are reading this blog post, you were probably at this unique farm wedding. Well done for being invited! It was crazy awesome, right??!! I mean, how on earth can you top a ferris wheel at a wedding??
When I first met Katelyn and her family, I was pretty excited about everything they were planning. My personal favorite weddings are outdoor and rustic farm weddings anyway. However, a Jewish wedding on her family’s Christmas tree farm was some major irony that was also right up my alley. Anytime people break the mold a little for weddings, especially Rochester weddings, I’m game. This rustic chic farm wedding was certainly poised to do just that!
So naturally, as the year went on and Katelyn would randomly email me to ask my opinion about something she saw on Pinterest, I was in full damage control mode…. managing her expectations and trying to keep her rustic farm wedding from being a Pinterest wedding clone of 2015. I’m all about the great DIY centerpiece ideas, checklists, etc. however the wedding photography is best left natural, candid and true to the event at hand. Especially since this isn’t my first rodeo.
Well….
Katelyn and Steve proved me wrong many times on their wedding day.
And I loved it!
From the rare, emotional ‘First Look‘ to the big group photo just after the ceremony, these two gave me more than I could have ever asked for at their farm wedding and are now in the running for my most Fearless couple! Seriously. From the Bride hiking up a hill in the heat to go fetch her Groom (before the wedding) to the freaking ferris wheel, the day was packed with things they were not only game for, but recommended!
This wedding is now easily in my top 5 ever! And like I said, this isn’t my first rodeo….
Wonderful job, you guys! Not only was everything gorgeous, but the day went so smoothly and the entire wedding felt like a backyard BBQ at the same time. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day.
Special thanks to Emily, the planner, for being so on the ball and Laura & David for putting SO much work into making the property look amazing. Also a shout out to my first-time assistant, Jodi, who was literally hired the day before the wedding to help me. She rocked it, especially since she had no idea what she was supposed to do that day. If you see her again, ask her about her own wedding… it is also in my top 5!
Enjoy the rest of these teaser images (there are soooooo many!) while I edit the rest. Check back in August for the full web gallery… Leave a comment below and I’ll keep you in the loop!

McCarthy Tents…. I will do! Steve doesn’t want to showcase his photos all over though, since he is very private. So, we’ll have to get his approval. I told him he can’t have a ferris wheel and then expect to hide it from the world! unfair! 😉
I have an August wedding with you too, i’m looking forward to it.
