Vintage Film Portrait Friday: The Oregon wedding! A mini reunion with friends that lived in Rochester while getting PhDs at the University of Rochester.
What a treat to be able to capture some friends on my fun film camera while at Emily & Chris’ wedding on the Oregon coast. This big burly camera was a trick to pack, but totally worth it. The irony is that when all of these friends lived in Rochester, I was shooting film for everything. Ah, cycles.
I did get some time alone to walk the beach and photograph Haystack Rock and the Needles. A mini vacation before I put the wedding photographer hat on for the day.
Chris (the man of the hour) with his parents and Best Man, relaxing at Ecola Park:
Ann is a master at Polaroid photography! And she is a PhD. She’s not a photographer, she just uses the Polaroid at parties. Her timing is impeccable! Taking these pics of her with her camera made me SO happy:
And then there is Amy. She is a force and probably the FUNNIEST lady I’ve ever met. OMG. for reals. There are no words.
John and I, (with his parents photo-bombing us!). John is Amy’s husband and we have a terribly inappropriate relationship (which amuses Amy). At weddings, we tear up the dance floor together. Many guests have pulled Amy aside to point us out and she just shrugs, laughs and then joins us. They are both great fun and great friends.
Fun Fact: John’s Dad totally sold me his own medium format film camera at this wedding! Yup, I now own a pristine Bronica.
Then there is Garrett. He is literally the first person I met when I went to RIT. Now, he is a fancy Color Scientist at Apple. I like to heckle him because he works on the software that I use to edit my weddings, Aperture.
So here are just a few images from sunset on this stunning Oregon beach:
And let us not forget, the gorgeous Bride, Emily. Because she and the Bridesmaids all got ready in my hotel room, I snuck in just a few film pictures of her right after she got into her wedding gown.
And there you have it. My film photos of Emily & Chris’ Goonie inspired beach wedding weekend in Oregon. Do you like to shoot film? What’s your favorite camera?? Share below.
