The Gourlay Family is amazing. Little Joey was scheduled to have Craniosynostosis surgery and Melissa wanted to capture his adorable face before it was changed permanently. Therefore, we headed to the beach with the family.
We took family pictures at Ontario Lake Park in the early morning and it was so much fun. Joey was a trooper, smiling the entire morning and little Danny learned all about walking in sand. He was so brave. It was so cute how he followed his Dad and went with him everywhere. I am very similar… an observer. And little Joey was intently watching everything his big brother did. I love watching kids grow and seeing them learn and explore the world for the first time. By the end of the session, the boys were covered in sand and having a ball. Honestly, so was I!
The beach was fun. It was a gorgeous morning and hardly anyone was there. Pretty much just us, the seagulls and the tractor that grooms it. Wow, the driver really knows the edges of that machine! We were so in his way and I’m surprised he didn’t yell at us to leave.
I am happy to report that Joey’s surgery went well and he is recovering well. He was adorable before, so I can’t wait to see him and his new face. What an honor it was to work with Melissa and the family again, especially with such an important portrait session.
