Felipe and Mayra have been engaged for 2 years, however they really threw their wedding together in about two months. I met them on the morning of what I thought was my last wedding of this season and they booked! Special thanks to the wonderful Philip from Premier Pastry for connecting me to this wonderful couple! Fun Fact: I also booked another small wedding after I booked theirs.
How Mayra found the time to make all of the details for the wedding is beyond me! She decorated the ring box, the guestbook, the dress hanger, the wish tree, the cake topper and even the ’boutonnieres’!
The wedding itself was so touching, especially since Mayra’s sons walked her down the aisle and a good friend officiated.
It was a lovely ceremony for another reason…. because Rochester’s Mayor Lovely Warren was in attendance, as well as the Fire Chief and over a dozen firefighters! I felt very safe.
The day was a treasure, taking the couple around the stunning Memorial Art Gallery to take photos of the couple.
Followers of my work all know that it is vital for me to capture something meaningful for my clients… and so with that we quickly popped across the street for a photo outside of Salena’s Restaurant. You see, Mayra and Felipe had their first date there (after a very successful meeting for coffee at Starry Night’s).
The rest of the evening was spent enjoying Mario’s, laughing, and dancing. It was the ideal party and my favorite part was watching the couple’s first dance! The moves!
Congratulations to Mayra and Felipe! It was so much fun and such a pleasure to document your wedding day at the Memorial Art Gallery.
