Emily and Tyler had a traditional Latter Day Saints wedding ceremony inside the LDS Temple in Palmyra and are celebrating with a larger crowd next weekend in State College, PA. LDS wedding photos are not permitted inside the temple during the ceremony, so Emily and Tyler arrived early and we captured all of their wedding photos before the ceremony, using the gorgeous temple as our backdrop. It is a sacred spot and a beautiful location.
Together, we walked around the grounds, reflecting upon the beauty of the building and the early morning sunlight, which illuminated the temple and surrounding woods.
My personal favorite aspect of all Mormon temples is the use of stained glass in every window, which brings nature inside the temple.
After the portraits around the Palmyra LDS Temple grounds, we headed just down the street to the sacred grove, where Joseph Smith had his first vision. We captured some more intimate and pensive moments to reflect on marriage, each other and their faith.
The view of the Temple through the trees near Joseph Smith’s home was a stunning spot for these LDS wedding photos! What a treat to capture this unique view that has such deep meaning.
It was a wonderful morning and the photo shoot was made even more wonderful and efficient thanks to the support team! They were well versed in fluffing the dress and fixing the Groom’s suit. So great to have them there to assist.
Another big thanks to my lighting assistant, Aden, whom I tested out on this session. Aden is a high school student photographer who is doing quite well in the film photography genre. It was good to have you there, Aden!
Congratulations to the happy couple! Emily and Tyler, it was such a treat to meet you and photograph your formal wedding photos. Have a wonderful time next weekend at your reception in State College. Wish I could be there too.
