These Cornell University Alumni threw one crazy fun party, with tons of friends and family dancing the night away.
Getting Ready at the Rowland House
Both the Bride and the Groom got ready at the Rowland House and once Katie was ready, I brought her downstairs to exchange cards with Ruwan, positioning them on opposite sides of a wall.
When we walked downstairs, we noticed the entire Bridal Party peeking through the windows to spy on this special moment!
Together, they shared this little moment and talked to each other through the wall as they read their cards. It was so sweet.
When they were ready, Katie and Ruwan had their ‘first look’ with all of the prying eye and cheers from the peanut gallery outside!
After family photos, bridal party photos and quick boys vs. girls game of corn hole, we headed to the evening wedding ceremony at the Aurora Inn with plenty of time to spare…
Fun Fact:Katie’s brother made the corn hole game and guestbook board out of pallet wood! Could have fooled me. They looked super professional and I totally want one for my backyard!
Aurora Inn Wedding Photos for Katie & Ruwan
No less than 6 people came up to me at the end of the night to tell me how much they loved Dani and I being there. Three people hugged me!
Awe, that is absolutely the sweetest and nicest thing to have happen after a very long day.
It just shows how wonderful the people in Katie and Ruwan’s life are and where they get it from.
Lakeside Wedding Ceremony at Aurora Inn
The ceremony was beautiful, even filled with the annoying spring bugs, and overlooked the Finger Lakes crown jewel Cayuga Lake.
Kate and Ruwan wrote their own vows and opted for the unique wine ceremony, which is a wonderful alternative to a unity candle.
Finger Lakes Weddings at Inns of Aurora
After just a few more family portraits, the happy couple and I took a little walk, with their champagne in hand, to the ruins and dock for a few intimate images of the newlyweds.
Isn’t the happy couple just glowing?!
The wedding reception was a plethora of silliness and dancing, with an epic sunset to wrap it all up. I’ll let the remaining images just speak for themselves since there are a TON.
Both Dani and I over-photographed these Inns of Aurora wedding as there was just so much going on, so many smiling faces, sparklers, s’ mores and more….
