Wow, we sure lucked out with the one gorgeous Spring day in Buffalo for Simon and Katelynn’s wedding! Full sun after a week of rain and snow. I call it my curse, my clients call it my ‘sunny day guarantee‘….
Luckily, their wedding was all indoors anyway, with the ceremony being held at the gorgeous St. Joseph’s Cathedral and the reception at Pearl Street Grill in downtown Buffalo.
Fun Fact: these two lovebirds met at a wedding!! The couple who got married then were here, of course!
There was a vintage 1960’s Mercedes limo, super hero undershirts, full English tailcoats, silly families and the funniest, most crass Bridal Party! Love them!
** Big props to Katelynn for remembering to turn Simon’s hand towards the camera for the ring exchange 😉 **
Katelynn and Simon pulled out all the stops with their details and little personality additions, like the purple streamers for the cathedral exit and the super hero undershirts. Her brother even gave her a ‘borrowed & blue’ item that was a Superman wristband!
We traveled to Forest Lawn Cemetery for some bug and goose poop filled Bridal Party photos and gave up on that location in time to hit the historic Cobblestone District. There was clearly some sort of game happening because traffic down that street was TERRIBLE. In between cars trying to run us over, we were able to capture some romantic as well as funny pictures like this cute one right here:
It sure was a fun day and everyone partied hard during the reception… even Grandma! Special thanks to Hugh for finding me online by searching for film wedding photographers! Such a treat to work with families that cherish quality photography over trends. And a bigger shout out to Simon’s family for traveling all the way from England! I hope you all enjoyed your trip and got to see a lot of Buffalo!
All in all, it was a great wedding and the reception was pretty killer. I mean, you can’t go wrong with 70% of the attendees getting up during the toasts for a fully choreographed dance for the Groom!! Pretty epic, I’d say! Congratulations, you crazy kids! It was such a pleasure to be there to document the day with you.
