Catherine and Tim threw a very glamorous Buffalo Wedding at St. Joseph’s Cathedral and Park Country Club this past Saturday, with their closest friends and family in attendance. This wedding was nine years in the making for the couple and five years in the making for me. You see, Cassie and Tim passed through my lens at her brother’s wedding in 2012 and we have been stalking each other on Instagram ever since.
So this wedding was a special one for me, as I’ve become quite fond of Cassie’s family over the years and also Tim sets himself up as a GQ model whenever I’m around. This weekend was no different. I mean, just look…
The weekend began at the historic Buffalo Club for the relaxed rehearsal dinner which included toasts that made everyone cry, including me. and I never cry. Tim really brought it all down when he walked us through winning Cassie’s attention and heart.
Saturday we awoke to drizzles of rain which cleared up when it mattered and I met the ladies at Cassie’s house. The guys had a whiskey toasts and finished getting ready in the stunning Park Country Club.
When Cassie was ready, she went outside to see her Father for the first time as a Bride. There were lots of tears with his youngest child and then we all headed straight to the Cathedral for the wedding ceremony.
Cassie’s brother Mike did the honors of escorting Cassie down the aisle to their parents so they could give Catherine away. Yes, more tears were shed and not just from Tim. Catherine looked like a glamorous Hollywood movie star in her Vera Wang wedding gown and Louboutin shoes. Oh, don’t worry….. Tim was also wearing Christian Louboutin shoes!
After the ceremony, Cassie and Tim headed outside to see her kindergarten class and share an ice cream cone with the little ones. It was adorable to say the least. The Bridal Party got in on the action while I was photographing the family portraits. I missed out!
As my readers and fans know, I prefer to capture images at places with meaning to my couples and that brought us over to one of Tim’s favorite places and a date night location where my favorite beverage is served: Lucky Day Whiskey Bar on Pearl Street. The staff was gracious enough to let us take over the place and imbibe in Buffalo’s finest bar. This was a perfect spot for more Bridal Party photos and fit with the glamorous Buffalo wedding venues that surrounded Catherine and Tim‘s wedding day.
After a few minutes of formal portraits on the grounds of the Park Country Club golf course, we headed inside for their glamorous wedding reception in the ballroom. Even more tears were shed during the toasts, then the cake was cut and we danced all night. Well, that last part is a tiny lie, as it was really hard to steal away from the multiple flavors of wedding cake and the gorgeous evening outdoors in order to make it to the dance floor…
I left with the s’mores station being put out for the revelers and Cassie saying “I want to give you a photo that will make it on your website!” and she shoved a s’more into her mouth. The rest, as they say, is history!
It was a true pleasure to document Tim and Catherine’s glamorous Buffalo wedding and to fall in love with Tim’s family as well. Every single person was a pleasure to meet and photograph and I wish Tim and Cassie a lifetime of love, laughter and funny pictures of Cassie shoving her face 😉 while looking gorgeous.
- A special Thank You to Joey for being my additional photographer. His height really came in handy with this 6 ft. tall bridal party! It was cool to see you in action.
