The Adirondacks is a beautiful and rustic place for a nerdy science-filled wedding at Forest Lake Camp. Alex and Brandon wanted a wedding that was fun, relaxed, and highlighted all that nature has to offer.
They are big travelers and hikers, so this summer camp was a perfect fit for their wedding.
Their friends and family helped throw the perfect DIY affair, from the stunning invitation booklet and keepsake poster to the yeast/salt/honey wedding favors.
Their good friend made EVERYONE cry during a touching wedding ceremony in the woods. Even the DJ was a friend who stepped up just three days prior to filling in at the last minute crushed the dance floor.
Gay Wedding in the Adirondacks
Alex, Brandon and I met the day before their wedding for the first time, and it felt like I’ve known them my whole life.
They are two of the friendliest and most welcoming people I’ve met and their friends and family were no different. It was such a treat to get to know everyone over the course of the weekend, hang out by the fire pit every night, and talk explore the summer camp together.
I loved that Brandon and Alex got ready together. It is such a perfect way to spend the rest of their lives together. They both kept it simple with a vest and a tie.
Rustic Adirondack Wedding Venue in the Woods
We had a little drizzle, and the weather was chilly, however, the guys and I were brave and walked around the Boy’s Camp side of Forest Lake Camp for their Groom/Groom portraits.
The lighting was soft and we were all very relaxed as they enjoyed their first minutes of marriage and the emotions that arose.
We then headed in to join the party and the rest is history!
Help me give them a warm-hearted Congratulations to Alex and Brandon with many years of warm wishes for unlimited adventures around the world together! Leave a comment for them below…
Forest Lake Camp Wedding Venue in the ADK
Forest Lake Camp is near Lake George in the Adirondacks, and is easily one of my favorite wedding venues.
The staff there is nothing but helpful and relaxed, always anticipating our every need. Brett and his team are absolutely a dream to work with and I highly recommend this wedding venue to anyone who wants a low-key, yet professional wedding venue.
–> The best part is that it is off-the-grid. It is wonderful to think back to my youth when there were no cell phones, Netflix, Facebook, or any of that. In this busy modern era, hanging out in a ‘dead zone’ is actually a treat.
