Ben and Kacey had a beautiful, unique and simple ceremony with champagne toast right around sunset for their nearest and dearest friends and family. It was a nice cool evening tent wedding in the Finger Lakes at the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake Wedding Venue in Canandaigua.
I arrived in the afternoon and was there while Kacey got ready, then we went to find Ben so they could see each other for the first time that day. It was a sweet moment and Kacey cried. The entire Bridal Party as well as the parents were all in attendance for such a touching moment.
Next, I took the Bridal Party around the lake to the little boat houses for some formal images. The light was amazing and rotated from shade to sun. After that, we went to the NYS Wine and Culinary Center for a wine tasting! Then we were pretty much finished with formals and ready for the ceremony and reception. There was amazing dramatic lighting for the ceremony as the sun was setting behind the Inn. Immediately following, Ben and Kacey had their first dance and they filled it with fun embellishments to entertain the entire crowd.
I had a blast photographing the entire day, as everyone was happy, beautiful and really nice to myself and my assistant, Mike Hanlon. Kellen and Danielle (wedding July 2009) were there and it was great for them to see me in action before their wedding!
At one point in the evening, one of the Bridesmaids came over to see if we needed anything to drink, and later a different Bridesmaid asked me if I needed her to round up an group shots! Amazing that these two would even be thinking about my needs. So sweet!
Ben and Kacey’s wedding was a true pleasure to photograph! Not only were both Ben and Kacey the absolute nicest couple, who obviously work really well together, but also because instead of wanting a lot of formals, they both want “art to put on their walls“! I love clients who push me to be my most creative instead of just the standard!
