Vintage Film Portrait Friday: Cassie and Tim’s Buffalo Engagement Pictures in Delaware Park for their July 2017 wedding
This gorgeous and sweet couple came into my life in the best way. Cassie’s brother hired me for his wedding several years ago and when I met Cassie on the wedding day, I felt like a celebrity! I walked into the salon where the bridesmaids were getting ready and Cassie and her sister, Anne, started clapping “Yay, you are here!” Hahaha…. that’s not the normal welcome that I receive on a wedding day.
You see, her brother and sister-in-law had narrowed their search down to 3 photographers (with me in the lead) and they showed the choices to the sisters…. it was unanimous! Both sisters picked me. So, you see, you have no idea how blessed I am to be the one to capture Tim and Cassie’s wedding next summer! It was as meant to be as these two love birds.
A few weeks ago, I drove out to Buffalo to spend the evening with these two, taking their film engagement pictures. We started at Cassie’s new home and then traveled to a few select, meaningful places in Buffalo for their engagement photos. Everyone knows that I’m a big fan of capturing real-life portraits, rather than just following trends.
Photographing them at home was a perfect start to the evening.
After Tim and Cassie found the perfect outfits, we ventured over to the wedding reception location, which they had just officially locked down that day.
We sort of poached the grounds and found this cute croquet setup on the lawn. They played a little round and I think Cassie won!
We then headed down to the spot where Tim proposed and wandered around finding the good light and just took a stroll together.
I loved getting to know Tim a little better and connecting with them both about their life, their journey and their wedding goals.
Cassie and Tim, you two are so calm and happy, it just flows from you both. Thank you so much for hiring me as your wedding photographer. It will be my honor! Love you guys!
