Glen and Amy’s backyard wedding was a no brainer, as both have been married before and annually, they throw a “Fall Shindig” for all of their beer loving friends. This year, they had a tent, food and a band…. oh, and a little wedding ceremony in there.
Honestly, it was perfect.
We knew we were going to get along great on their wedding day when I kept running into them at Rochester’s finest bars all year leading up to this day.
Saturday, I swung by Stacy K Florist to pick up the wedding bouquet and boutonniere (I know… I’m just so nice) and then met the couple in Pittsford at Lock 32 Brewery on the historic Erie Canal. The weather forecast called for quick moving thunderstorms, so I though it best to have several covered options in case were caught in some rain. Luckily, I was the only one who got drizzled on during their “first look” and formal portraits! That’s cool.
When they finished up their beers and had some time to chat, we headed outside to find the sun shining bright!
Notice anything interesting in the bridal bouquet???? Do you see the beer hops in there??
After all of the guests arrived at the house, we left the canal and headed home for the wedding ceremony. It was perfectly perched under their tree where they sit each evening to drink and enjoy time together. Scott gave a very touching ceremony and Amy made every single person cry.
The remainder of the wedding day was literally their Fall Shindig, with appetizers under the tent and Violet Mary entertaining the guests. Luckily, it rained at all of the perfect times, passed quickly, and left us with plenty of time for outdoor portraits.
We even captured all of the Rochester Institute of Technology Alumni in one shot for the alumni magazine! Since I too am a RIT Alumni, I tried to photo bomb the pic. Dang…. where is my fish eye lens when I need it??
As the leaves started to fall from the trees and the Octoberfest beer was enjoyed, we all relaxed and got to celebrate Amy and Glen’s second chance at the happy ending. It was a true pleasure and honor to document the day and get to know everyone in attendance, including some old familiar faces.
Big ups to Mel who sent the couple my way! It was a great fit and it was my honor to document their annual Fall Shindig and backyard wedding!
Congrats to Glen and Amy!! Here are more teaser images of this backyard wedding for you to enjoy while I edit the rest….
