Nichole and Jeff held a beautiful and emotional Adirondack wedding at The Woods Inn in Inlet, NY with crafty and unique wedding invitations by the Groom’s sister! This destination wedding was a dream weekend full of family, friends, and fun.
The Woods Inn on Fourth Lake is a all-in-one Adirondack wedding venue near Old Forge and Nichole and Jeff planned the perfect wedding weekend for their friends and family.
The Invite unfolded to a map of the wedding venue and the area around Fourth Lake. It was pretty unique and one of the very best wedding invitations that I’ve seen in my 16 years as a wedding photographer. Well done, Rachel!
Adirondack Wedding Venue: The Woods Inn
The Woods Inn was a perfect wedding venue for the couple, who spend a lot of time in the Adirondacks and on Fourth Lake. They even named their dog “Dacks.” Everyone felt at home and the wedding venue offered the ideal mix of rustic charm with easy amenities.
The guys got ready in a canvas glamping tent on the property, which was the perfect spot to hide away and hang out before the whirlwind of a wedding day. Jeff did the honors of tying everyone’s ties.
They all looked sharp and stayed sober before the official photos. Thanks, guys!
The girls (and bridesman) got ready just steps away in the conference center at the Woods Inn. It was easy for me to bounce back and forth between the two groups as they all put on their finishing touches.
I love that Nichole wanted to do a “First Look” with her Dad and so I set it up on the beautiful wrap around porch of the Woods Inn.
One thing that never gets old is seeing how the Bride and Groom incorporate all of the important people on their wedding day.
Everyone has different family dynamics and my having an insider’s view on these important relationships fills my heart and makes me appreciate the people in my own life.
Nichole’s mom walked her down to see her Dad for the very first time as the Bride on her wedding day. The emotion was overflowing all around.
The couple wanted their “first look” at each other on the wedding day to be on the dock at The Woods Inn so that they could enjoy a natural setting and the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains before the wedding ceremony and party.
Jeff also surprised Nichole with a gift of an Adirondack Park shaped necklace with a tiny heart where they are getting married.
As is my normal method, we captured all of the formal portraits prior to the wedding ceremony so we could party the night away without worry. Everyone was on time and we actually finished early!
High fives all around!!
A huge shout-out to Danielle, a sister of the Bride, for recommending me to the happy couple. Danielle and I have worked before in a non-profit professional setting, and she knew that my work was a perfect fit for this wedding.
The Adirondacks and a couple who doesn’t take things too seriously??
Yes, please!
The wedding day gave us perfect weather for the Fall in the Adirondacks: 74 and sunny. The wedding ceremony was officiated by a close friend and overlooked Fourth Lake in Inlet, NY.
There were tears.
Lots and lots of tears.
After the wedding ceremony, the couple and I snuck away for a few moments of newly married bliss so Nichole could give Jeff her wedding gift. You see, her wedding vows had a line from The Missing Piece and she didn’t want to spoil the surprise ahead of time.

Without further ado, we headed to the pavilion in order to get the wedding reception underway.
I mean, there were toasts, dances, and dinner to be had.
Naturally, there were more tears and a lot more laughing.
You know how you watch movies with weddings in them and they all show the Groom seeing the Bride walk down the aisle for the first time? Well, that’s not MY favorite moment from a wedding day. My favorite wedding moment is during dinner when I spot the Groom twirling his new wedding ring.
It’s something that I picked up on years and years ago and strikes me as an interesting moment when the Groom gets used to his new jewelry.
DJ Toad crushed it all night with the dance floor hopping all night. I can see why they brought him in from Cincinnati to run the party!
Between a live slideshow of the wedding hashtag to full-on music videos to his custom built DJ booth, he was on point!
I snuck away after catching Dad doing his best air-guitar and then starting a burpee/mountain climber contest. I’m sorry, but Nichole wins for doing that in her wedding gown!
So, I headed inside to find the gelato and to take in the cool mountain air.
I followed the ADK mountain destination wedding festivities with a Nichole and Jeff approved activity: hiking and camping in the Adirondacks for a few days off. I really couldn’t pass it up.
